History - LONG BIO

2006 – Splintered Throne began as a adventurous musical project, that would encompass everything from rock and pop music to death-metal. Founded by Brian Garrison /vocals, Jonathan Schlosser /guitar, and Brian Bailey / bass, the band over time began to transition to hard rock.  Yves Prince, replaced drummer Doug Parks - This lineup recorded 2000’s Deeper in the mind of a Musician CD, which featured the tracks Descent into Madness and Dragonfly.

2010 - With Jonathan Schlosser and the Brian's parting ways, they decided to reform the band with a melodic power metal sound.  With a more defined image and focus musically, this transformation started by recruiting Jason Moser (J-Mo) on guitar and Kris Holboke on drums. J-Mo’s background in speed and classic old-school / traditional metal, combined with a progressive-mixed-with-thrash drumming of Kris, aligned the sound of the band to European bands like Primal Fear and Firewind while retaining the American sounds of early Metallica, Savatage, and Riot.  The band quickly got to work and released a 5 song EP called Shattered.  This featured the title track "Shattered", the band's self-titled anthem “Splintered Throne”, and a cover of the Animals tune “House of the Rising Sun”.  The EP was well received and garnered enthusiastic reviews.

2013 - Fred Osborn joined on guitar to give Splintered Throne  a unique twin lead guitar attack that included trade off solos and harmonies in the vein of Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Thin Lizzy. The musical theory and jazz background Fred brings adds the chemistry to the band, captured on the 2014 release “The Octagon”, a 50+minute offering containing the aggressive title track "The Octagon", the hook-laden “Set The Past On Fire”, and “Grasp” (inspired from a domestic violence benefit the band plays annually, Rock The Awareness).  Industry wide reviews of the “The Octagon” were very well received and highlight its nature:  “crushing riffs with balls to the wall vocals”, and “a blending of hard rock meets heavy metal (with) some incredible hooks, some outstanding riffs and some of the most incredible vocals I have heard in some time.”

Following the release of “The Octagon”, Splintered Throne traveled the West Coast and supported heavyweight acts like;  Primal Fear, Metal Church, P.O.D., Lita Ford, Pat Travers, Armored Saint, Tony MacAlpine, Gary Hoey, Points North, Sanctuary and Bruce Bouillet.  Splintered Throne also performed at Reno ’s Full Force Festival and Oregon ’s Guitar’s Under The Stars Festival.

2017/2018 – Splintered Throne releases their highly anticipated full-length CD, “REDLINE”.  “REDLINE” demonstrates how the band has further refined their sound to a unique combination of classic – old-school metal and classic rock, fused with elements of progressive and pop.  From the first notes of “Enjoy the Ride” to the last riffs of “Take it to the Grave”, REDLINE covers the musical spectrum from all of their combined influences.   In a continuation of the positive reception of their previous works, “REDLINE” is garnering attention and the appreciation of hard rock and metal fans across all ages.

2019 - Brian Garrison retired from the band to pursue more time with his family.  The rest of the band are working with a new vocalist to continue the breath of traditional classic metal that is Splintered Throne.  Stay tuned for what that may bring, as there is a new future in sight for ST! #CatchTheThrone.
